Every year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, the Giving Tuesday movement rallies people from around the world to give, collaborate and celebrate the generosity that happens over the course of the year. Dedicated to the idea that every act of generosity counts, Giving Tuesday serves as a reminder to show up for the causes we believe in within our communities.

As the philanthropic arm of CNX Resources, CNX Foundation is dedicated to bringing our Appalachia First vision to life by making a tangible, impactful and local difference throughout our region. In addition to the support we provide all year long, we kicked off CNX Impact – our season of giving – to help advance our community initiatives through employee volunteerism. Already, our employees have packaged food for local food banks, decorated the Washington City Mission food hall for Thanksgiving and held a cleanup day at Washington Lakes.

This year for Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join us in supporting some initiatives and organizations that we feel represent the breadth and depth of our key areas of focus. They include:

In addition, throughout the year CNX supports Outreached Arms, an organization that serves food to the hungry and provides basic necessities to those in need. CNX Foundation funds the meals provided every Tuesday, and on the first Tuesday of every month CNX employees help serve the dinner.

Another way to join us is to support one of the many nonprofit organizations that now call The HQ at CNX home. Dedicated to providing space for nonprofit, charitable, women and minority-owned and underrepresented organizations, the HQ offers affordable, professional office space for organizations to elevate their business while collaborating with similarly-minded professionals. These businesses may have different visions, but they share a commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families throughout our region, and share a significant role in bringing the Appalachia First vision to life.

We are committed to our mission and vision all year long, and we know that concerns like food insecurity, substance use disorder and children’s health and wellness aren’t relegated to the holiday season. This Giving Tuesday, we honor all the ways individuals and organizations choose to give – whether it’s through volunteering time, donating money, or helping your neighbor. In 2024, we look forward to building on the progress we’ve made across our key pillars and continuing to lift up families, neighborhoods, communities and organizations throughout Appalachia.
