On this episode of The Path Forward, Zion talks with Pennsylvania Senator Camera Bartolotta about domestic violence and the work being done in Pennsylvania to stop it. Senator Bartolotta also shares the story of Tierne Ewing, a victim of domestic violence, and how it led to the passage of Tierne's Law. The legislation allows judges to use risk assessment tools to determine whether the perpetrators of domestic violence pose a continued danger to their victims.
“To me, it’s not Domestic Violence Awareness Month, it’s domestic violence awareness every day,” said Senator Bartolotta. “And we have to reach out to those that we think might be in a situation where they need help. You shouldn’t be afraid to say something.”
