On October 3rd, 2025, Mr. Schultz’s Environmental Field Studies class partnered up with a CNX team to install a bat box in the back field of the Kiski Area High School/Kiski Area Intermediate School campus. CNX strives to install bat boxes within our communities to combat White-Nose Syndrome, which has decimated bat populations in the United States. The project creates awareness to local residents while providing safe housing opportunities for bats away from the human population. Bats are an extremely important part of our ecosystem, consuming harmful insects and pollinating plants. Thank you to this wonderful group of students, and thank you to CNX for partnering with us and educating our students about the importance of this project!
