CNX Foundation Embraces the Spirit of Giving Tuesday All Year Long

At CNX Foundation, we know that giving back comes in a wide variety of forms throughout the whole year.

Every year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, the #GivingTuesday movement rallies people from around the world to give, collaborate and celebrate the generosity that happens over the course of the year. Dedicated to the idea that every act of generosity counts, Giving Tuesday serves as a reminder to show up for the causes we believe in within our communities.

At CNX Foundation, we are dedicated year-round to supporting organizations that embrace the opportunity to make a tangible, impactful and local difference.  And to further encourage our employees to get involved, we kicked off CNX Impact, our season of giving, to help advance our community initiatives through employee volunteerism. Already, our employees have packaged food for local food banks, decorated the Washington City Mission food hall for Thanksgiving and traveled to Virginia to distribute food at Feeding My Sheep. In addition, K&J Cafe, a Washington-based, woman-owned small business which opened in CNX headquarters, joined forces with CNX employees to prepare 220 Thanksgiving dinners for a local church.

“We are proud of and inspired by our accomplishments over the last year,” said Alex Reyes, CNX Resources Executive Vice President and General Counsel. “From local partnerships that seek to end domestic violence and the commitment to ending food insecurity in our region, the momentum we’ve gained in 2022 is incredibly exciting. We look forward to an even wider array of giving opportunities in 2023.”

CNX Foundation is dedicated to supporting organizations that focus their efforts on addressing community initiatives in the following key areas:

  1. Food insecurity
  2. Children’s health and wellness
  3. Broadband and technology access
  4. Recidivism and re-entry
  5. Domestic abuse awareness
  6. The opioid epidemic and its societal impact
  7. Career awareness and technical/vocational training
  8. Water quality safety and awareness

We are committed to our mission all year long, and we understand that food insecurity isn’t specific to the holiday season. This summer, CNX Foundation purchased 8,803 pounds of protein at a number of the local community fairs and festivals to benefit Washington County Food Helpers, Westmoreland Food Bank and Corner Cupboard Food Bank.

This #GivingTuesday, we honor all the ways people and organizations choose to give – whether it’s through volunteering time, donating money or helping a neighbor. We are looking forward, in 2023, to building on our achievements and embracing the spirit of #GivingTuesday every day.
